Helping you rest— in your truth, with your emotions, and within your communities.

Ja’Mara Washington is a writer and wellness advocate whose work blends raw storytelling, humor, and practical tools for healing.

Ja’Mara’s writing journey began in high school. She wrote music and poetry as a way to process her emotions. While she didn't think about it as a career, she used it as an emotional outlet.
She went on to receive her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from the University of Central Florida and Masters in Business Administration from Rollins College. Upon graduating she built a career in education, staffing and technology. But after experiencing a family death in 2019, she went back to writing.
While navigating beginnings, endings and messy middles with her therapist and community, she documented the tools, affirmations and lessons learned for a well-balanced lifestyle in her journal. For six years. It was her way of trading in chaos for peace.
In her debut book, Finally, a Piece of Peace, she draws on her Southern roots, faith, and personal journey through grief, self-doubt, and reinvention to guide readers toward balance and self-discovery.
When she is not writing, Ja’Mara enjoys getting lost in deep conversations, biking new trails, visiting specialty coffee shops, or indie bookstores and annoying her four-year-old cat.
Ja’Mara is a Florida native based in Washington, DC and available for workshops and speaking engagements within the United States.
